More withdrawals at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, with Visma-Lease a Bike announcing that today Per Strand Hagenes and Jørgen Nordhagen will not participate in the seventh stage of the French race. The Dutch team has stated that the riders experienced symptoms of illness during the night, forcing the squad to make this difficult decision for the athletes' wellbeing. Nordhagen in particular held eleventh place in the general classification and was supposed to be the main lieutenant for Matteo Jorgenson, the team's captain and fourth overall, 2'34" behind leader Tuckwell.
This withdrawal adds to that of Wout van Aert, who had already abandoned the competition earlier. Currently, the team finds itself with only four riders at the start, a reduced number that further complicates the strategy for tackling the challenges of the remaining stages.
Despite the difficulties, Visma-Lease a Bike is committed to giving their all with the remaining riders, seeking to maintain high motivation and energy to face the road ahead.
