Jordi Meeus adds another notch to his palmares by winning the 106th edition of the Brussels Cycling Classic, a Belgian classic in the 1.Pro category that has been grappling with the status of a faded noble in recent years.
On the finish line in Brussels, after 206.3 km of racing, the Belgian from Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe outsprinted his compatriot Milan Fretin from Cofidis and Eritrean Biniam Girmay from NSN Cycling Team.
For Meeus, this marks his 19th career victory, his fourth of this season, and his third in the last two weeks of racing.
It is worth noting that crashes occurred again today, particularly in the final stages, with Geeraerts from Team Flanders Baloise, Simmons from EF Education Easypost, and Malecki from Pinarello Q36.5 hitting the ground.
