The Union Européenne de Cyclisme (UEC) is pleased to announce that the 2027 UEC Elite Track European Championships have been awarded to Berlin. The event, assigned yesterday by the UEC Executive Board, will take place from February 10-14, 2027 at the historic Velodrome in the German capital, one of the most prestigious and iconic facilities in international track cycling.
The continental championship will bring together Europe's finest track specialists in what promises to be one of the most important appointments of the season. The 2027 edition will be made even more spectacular by the presence of Derny and Stayer races, fascinating disciplines rich in tradition that continue to attract great interest from the public and enthusiasts.
Enrico Della Casa, President of the Union Européenne de Cyclisme: "Berlin represents an important part of track cycling history. Its Velodrome is a facility of great tradition that over the years has hosted World Championships, European Championships and numerous international events of the highest level. The UEC Elite Track European Championships are now a flagship event on the international calendar, and the 2027 edition will be even more interesting thanks to the presence of Derny and Stayer races, two spectacular and particularly attractive disciplines. The event will also assume even greater importance as it is part of the Olympic qualification pathway towards Los Angeles 2028, an element that will make the event central for athletes, teams, enthusiasts and all broadcasters who will follow it live on television. We are confident that Berlin will deliver a great spectacle to the entire European track cycling community. I would like to sincerely thank the City of Berlin, Iris Spranger, Senator for Sports, German Cycling and its President Bernd Dankowski, the President of Berlin Cycling Association of German Cycling Claudiu Ciurea as well as the Organizing Committee, which in the past has already demonstrated great organizational capabilities in hosting important international events."
Iris Spranger, Senator for the Interior and Sport: "The award of the 2027 UEC Elite Track European Championships to Berlin represents a great honor; it underscores the competence and prestige of our international sports capital. This decision also represents a very positive signal for our candidacy to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
