Autozai Contri is set to take center stage in one of the most prestigious races in the junior cycling landscape. From May 31st to June 2nd, the team will compete in the 24th Giro del Friuli Venezia Giulia, an international event spread over three stages.
The competition will open on Sunday, May 31st with a stage featuring a circuit of approximately fifteen kilometers to be repeated six times, with start and finish in Pravisdomini. A stage that on paper suits fast riders, but could nonetheless offer opportunities for attacks from afar and selection attempts.
The following day will be the moment of the queen stage, destined to have a profound impact on the general classification. Riders will have to face the Mountain Prizes at Forcella Meduno and Forcella Claupa before the concluding climb to Piancavallo, a traditionally decisive finish and a true test for the most brilliant climbers in the group.
The event will conclude on Tuesday, June 2nd with a third particularly treacherous stage. After an initial flat section, the course will intensify with the final sequence of Mountain Prizes at Moruzzo, Castello di Fagagna and the double passage over Castello d'Arcano, ideal terrain for attacks and surprises.
Representing Autozai Contri will be Xavier Bordignon, Lorenzo Ceccarello, Filippo Grigolini, Thomas Mariotto and Marco Pierotto, called upon to face one of the most important races of the season against some of the best teams in the junior cycling landscape.
For Autozai Contri, the Giro del Friuli Venezia Giulia represents an appointment of great technical and educational value, perfectly in line with the team's philosophy: to guide young athletes through a path of sporting and personal growth through high-level competition.
