A truly difficult day in Hungary with the queen stage shortened twice due to torrential rain: a first reduction had already been decided this morning, with approximately forty kilometers cut from the route, while the second shortening occurred during the race itself, with the cancellation of the final climb scheduled and the finish line placed at the summit of the penultimate ascent.
In this apocalyptic scenario, Swedish rider Jakob Söderqvist of Lidl Trek emerged victorious with young Spanish rider Benito (Polti VisitMalta) in second place and Australian Luke Plapp (Jayco AlUla) in third position. Three Italians finished in the top ten with Calzoni sixth, Fancellu seventh and Zoccarato eighth.
