Following his success in Rome at the Grand Prix of the Liberation, the twenty-two-year-old Piedmontese rider from the province of Novara Mirko Bozzola has secured another important and prestigious race victory at the XII° Daniele Tortoli Memorial held on the sunny roads of Valdarno with start and finish in Montalto. The outstanding athlete from S.C. Padovani delivered a crescendo finish, putting on a spectacular display to receive the applause of the spectators present at the national race for elite and under 23 categories in solitary fashion. The winner's finale was truly spectacular.
Tessiore also delivered a brilliant performance, attempting to close the gap on Bozzola in the final stages but ultimately finishing about fifteen seconds behind the winner. The third place and therefore the right to stand on the podium was claimed by Englishman Wood. The race saw 185 riders from 33 teams at the start, with 95 finishers, and also featured the Petroli Firenze Trophy thanks to its sponsor Sandro Pelatti and the Ittedi Cup.
