The fourth edition of the Gran Premio San Leolino - 2nd Romano Rondoni Memorial saw the first victory of the season for Nicolò Tomassini, who at the uphill finish line in the small Valdarno locality of San Leolino di Bucine outpaced the other members of the select leading group, starting with his teammate Federici, followed by Caruso, Cianti and Luci who crossed the line about ten seconds back. The Valdarno race in the province of Arezzo was not an easy one with its challenging course, with 99 starters of which only 35 made it to the finish. The gravel section was repeated four times and at the end the strongest riders emerged to contest the victory, which was claimed by Tomassini.
