Alessio Menghini wins the Vicenza-Bionde, one of the most renowned classics on the Italian spring calendar, at the end of a perfect race built by the team. For the Friuli rider comes the first seasonal victory, the success that was missing after so many placings in this early season. For Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna Caffè Borbone it is the third seasonal victory with three different riders: after Nicolò Pizzi and Tommaso Bambagioni, Menghini also delivers a strong performance.
The race was built with tactics and intelligence. In the first breakaway of the day, Tommaso Anastasia and Marco Martini inserted themselves, bringing the team into prominence from the early stages. In the finale, when the decisive group of 17 riders formed, Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna Caffè Borbone could count on three athletes: Matteo Paltrinieri, Tommaso Anastasia and Alessio Menghini.
After managing the advantage over the rest of the group, in the final three hundred meters the team action was perfect: Paltrinieri set up the curve with precision, Anastasia launched the sprint with power, Menghini finished with a clean sprint, almost by a distance. Anastasia and Paltrinieri closed respectively twelfth and fourteenth, celebrating together with their teammate the victory.
This great team performance with victory at the end of the Vicenza-Bionde crowns an excellent weekend for Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna Caffè Borbone. The day before, Saturday April 25, at the GP Liberazione in Rome came the third place of Tommaso Anastasia and the fourth place of Marco Martini at the end of a race as protagonists.
On the nervous Roman circuit of the Terme di Caracalla, Anastasia was clever to enter the decisive action two laps from the end with two Padovani riders. In numerical inferiority, he closed with an excellent third place. Just seconds later, Martini controlled the group of the best, conquering fourth place in a high-level top-10, with the best Continental teams and three athletes from UAE Team Emirates Gen-Z.
The season of Team Technipes #inEmiliaRomagna Caffè Borbone continues to deliver important satisfactions. Beyond the three victories with three different riders (Pizzi, Bambagioni, Menghini), the team has conquered numerous podiums in the most prestigious races: Bambagioni second at the Trofeo Piva and third at the Giro del Belvedere, Cattani third at the Trofeo Città di San Vendemiano, Ansaloni third at the Coppa Caduti di Reda, plus Anastasia's podium at GP Liberazione and the podiums already collected by Menghini at Firenze-Empoli and Civitanova Marche.
An important chapter of the season was written at the recent Tour of the Alps, where Tommaso Bambagioni and Alessandro Cattani were great protagonists wearing the Italian National team jersey. The two team athletes honored the call-up greatly in a high-level race among professionals, obtaining respectively an eleventh and thirteenth place in the stage, competing on equal terms with the best professional riders in the world. An extraordinary formative experience that confirms the level reached by the U23 riders of the squad.
For the team conceived in 2019 by Davide Cassani and promoted by APT Servizi Emilia Romagna, chaired by Gianni Carapia and directed from the team car by Francesco Chicchi, Michele Coppolillo, Mauro Calzoni and Andrea Gallo, with Gian Luca Giardini as project manager, 2026 continues to be a season rich in results and confirmations, which testifies to the solidity of the project and the quality of the work carried out.
