Bad luck strikes Marc Hirschi: the Swiss rider from Tudor crashed approximately 20 km from the finish line along with several other riders. Almost all of them got back on their bikes, but not Hirschi, who appeared visibly shaken and in pain. The X-ray examinations unfortunately confirmed a fracture of the left collarbone, which requires surgical intervention that will be performed tomorrow morning.
Obviously, for Hirschi there's no Liège, but also goodbye to the Giro d'Italia: it's a bitter blow for the team founded and directed by Fabian Cancellara.
