Wout Van Aert has become the 91st rider to win Paris-Roubaix in the 123 editions that have been held from 1896 to today. Thanks to his spectacular achievement, Belgium has returned to victory seven years after the 2019 triumph, signed by Philippe Gilbert. Van Aert has thus conquered his second Classic Monument in his career, after the Milan-San Remo in 2020.
For Belgium, it marks the 58th victory in the history of the Queen of the Classics, the 11th out of 26 editions held from 2000 to today. The overall podiums, counting Jasper Stuyven's third place, rise to 165. Van Aert has finished in the top three at Paris-Roubaix for the third time and has also reached 9 podiums in the Classic Monuments (2 victories, 2 second places and 5 third places).
Tadej Pogacar repeated his second place from last year and, while ending a streak of four consecutive victories, has achieved his 17th podium out of 23 Classic Monuments raced in his career. Jasper Stuyven, finally, has become the 226th cyclist to secure a top-three finish in the history of this splendid race.
