In the end he spoke. He managed to overcome and break down the shyness of Stefano Cinerari, someone who is used to tearing down barriers and structures with "his" Armofer, a leading company in demolition owned by the Cinerari family (Andrea, Emilio and Stefano himself, ed.).
Last night everyone together passionately with a lot of friends and sponsors who are also friends, for a thank you dinner to those who work to support two national realities, the Pedale Casalese and the Casano Cycling team. The "vernissage" was presented by the reliable duo Luca Gregorio and Riccardo Magrini (watch those two) and took place in the house that was the Romania pavilion at Expo Milan 2015, because Armofer demolishes, but also loves to build, maintain and carry forward projects that are not only industrial, but also social and charitable. A house in the woods, in the shadow of the splendid Gesiolo Church, "the Oratory of Casatico", which stands in open countryside in Siziano (PV).
In the end he spoke, from the very beginning. He let himself go, in front of his boys Peter and Enea, who encouraged him and he didn't give up, he didn't back down, he thanked all those who work hard and contribute, like many grassroots societies, to give a future to many young people. «My boys advised me to think that in front of me I have an audience without clothes, completely naked: it's a winning way to overcome embarrassment. But how can I think of Miceli naked?...». (laughter in the room).
Whether Winston Churchill used this technique (among others) to overcome his fears of public speaking (apparently he also recommended that people practice their speeches in front of a mirror) is uncertain, but what is certain is that last night Stefano Cinerari made a beautiful impression, speaking in front of an audience of over 130 people, among whom stood out the dean of team managers, Bruno Reverberi, accompanied by his nephew Gabriele. And then a series of former riders like Davide Bramati, Mario Scirea and the aforementioned Nicola Miceli accompanied by Ambrogio Romanò, the System Cars man. And then Emanuele Bombini, Omar Piscina, Eugenio Berzin in form as we haven't seen him in years and, with him Gibo Simoni, Danilo Gioia, Dario Cataldo, Giacomo Nizzolo and Maurizio Spreafico, the Velo+ man. Present was regional president Stefano Pedrinazzi and then a large delegation from Casano, starting with general manager Lucio Petacchi and CEO Michele Ricci. Also precious was the presence of Gian Luca Pozzi, CEO of Cicli Drali, which has been a partner of Armofer for two years. Highly applauded was professor Mario Sturla, the first doctor inducted into the Hall of Fame of Italian boxing and a special guest, Carlo Genta, sports voice of Radio 24, who after years has returned to breathe the air of cycling thanks to Stefano Cinerari who "called him" for the occasion.
Hosting duties were handled by Federica Delucchi, Armofer's marketing and communications manager, who took care of everything with her usual attention and passion, and Luca Colombo, Stefano Cinerari's right-hand man, the soul of this praiseworthy and deserving project in difficult times like these. In short, an evening of friendship, with many guests and an infinity of toasts and laughter, among memories and abundant jokes to whet the appetite for racing: the boys are there, the structure is there, now it's up to them. In the end, predictions were not lacking. Gregorio and Magrini ask in unison: who will win the Roubaix? The "interrogated" ones by "those two" Mario Scirea, Dario Cataldo and Davide Bramati. For Scirea the victory will go to Filippo Ganna. For Dario Cataldo to his Davide Ballerini. For Davide Bramati ("if one of my riders doesn't win"), I hope Filippo Ganna. Curtain down, in a good sense.
