The Mexican during the race prevented Seixas from going solo and chasing Pogacar and then, when the Frenchman managed to break away, he followed him, crossing the finish line in third place.

What kind of race was it for you today?
«We all had a predefined role and we all exceeded expectations. My teammates did what had been decided this morning and performed their role perfectly, especially those at the front who worked until sector 4-5 and helped me enter well in sector 6. It was truly incredible».

It was a special day for you. Pogacar won and you finished third: what did you feel?
«I couldn't be happier with the day we had today. I tried to cover more or less all the sectors, and in the end I managed to follow Seixas too, who made the decisive move in the final stretch. So I was able to go with him towards the finish and yes, I'm happy with the podium because it was like an extra for us. I'm super proud to be here».

UAE Emirates was the undisputed master of the race: what do you think of your team?
«I think the same thing we've demonstrated in other races. We have a really strong guy like Tadej, who every time shows us how to lead and how to manage the race. Then my teammates are all really good and strong and I'm happy about everything, because we're really only at the beginning of the season».

We're at the beginning of the season and you've already shown a lot, what should we expect from you in the coming months?
«I feel good and to be honest I can't complain. I'm super happy to be here. I came to help Tadej and that's what I did. I don't feel hindered by him in the team. He has always tried to give me my space, but honestly I don't take advantage of it. I'm here to try to help him and I'm more than happy to do so. We'll have other races together and I'll continue to help him and I'm pleased about that».
