Matthew Brennan confirms all his qualities and pulls off a fine move by winning the Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne. The young British rider from Visma Lease a Bike sealed the winning sprint, claiming his 14th victory in the top category. Second place went to Luca Mozzato of Tudor Pro Cycling and third his teammate Matteo Trentin.
THE RACE. A long series of attacks, counterattacks and chases animated the entire first part of the race. There were no shortage of crashes and notable retirements today, starting with Tim Wellens of UAE. While Jonathan Milan struggled to keep pace with the best riders already 80 kilometers from the finish and many other sprinters gradually lost ground, the peloton continued to thin out until the final sprint.
