With the French stint concluded without incident, the focus for Team Gallina Lucchini Ecotek Colosio now turns to upcoming challenges on home soil. Starting with the Memorial Polese, the traditional finish line in San Michele di Piave, in the Treviso area, scheduled for Saturday, February 28th over a distance of 168 kilometers. The race starts at 12:30 p.m. Racing in Veneto will be Mercatali, fresh off an excellent performance in Misano where he secured the special classification for intermediate sprints, along with Carnicella, Buti, Militello, Crescioli and Veneri.
The weekend will become even more intense on Sunday, March 1st, when the Brescia-based team will be competing on two fronts: at Volta Mantovana in the Trofeo Termomeccanica (133 km, 1:30 p.m.) and in the Gran Premio De Nardi at Castello Roganzuolo (101 km, 2:30 p.m.).
The selections for the two events include for the Lombardy race the riders Buti, Veneri, Militello, Franzosi, Bonometti and Ganini, while for the race in the Treviso area there will be Russian rider Gerbut, making his debut with the team, Ferrari, Carnicella, Mercatali, Faustinelli and Cornali.
The program will be completed with Team Gallina Lucchini Ecotek Colosio's participation in the Umag Classic in Croatia, an event on the UCI international calendar in the 1.2 class. The race is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4th, will cover 140 kilometers and will start from Umag at 1:30 p.m. Racing will be the same athletes from the "Polese" event, namely Carnicella, Buti, Militello, Crescioli, Veneri and Mercatali.
