Czech Barbora Bukovska is the new world champion in cyclocross in the women's junior category. The talented athlete from Ostrava, who will turn 18 in November and is already the European champion, won the world title in Hulst, Netherlands, after an authoritative race full of twists and turns. Bukovska overtook the pre-race favorite, French rider Lise Revol, the defending champion, who had led the race until the beginning of the last lap before being caught by the Czech. For Revol, it's still a prestigious silver medal, while bronze completes a top-level podium with the other Czech rider Lucie Grohova. Fourth place goes to Italian Giorgia Pellizotti, who started very quickly but lost some positions in the final, preventing her from staying in the leading group.
Other Italian riders: 14. Azzetti, 16. Righetto, 19. Bianchi
