Seff Van Kerckhove, 17-year-old winner of the 2025 Giro della Lunigiana and bronze medalist in the Kigali time trial, was hit by a car while training on the roads near his home in Belgium. Following the accident, the young athlete registered with the Decathlon CMA CGM Junior team suffered fractures to four vertebrae.
The French team announced the incident that occurred on December 29th yesterday, wishing Seff a speedy recovery and thanking the medical team treating him. They concluded with an important reminder: "Remember that bikes and cars share the same road, safety is fundamental for everyone".
The recovery times for the talented 2008-born rider, younger brother of Matisse Van Kerckhove who rides for Visma Lease a Bike Continental, are not yet known.
