Filippo Grigolini narrowly missed victory in the spectacular evening cyclocross race in Diegem, Belgium. The European Junior Champion finished second in the international event, surrendering only to Belgian Giel Lejeune, who won with a minimal margin of 2 seconds over the Team Cingolani Specialized rider. Another home rider, Van Lee, took the third step of the podium, preceding a brilliant Francesco Dell'Olio, who delivered a solid performance and finished fourth. The Italian day was completed with two more top-ten placements, with Giovanni Bosio in eighth and Filippo Cingolani in ninth. Pezzo Rosola and Tommaso Cingolani were forced to retire.
