After the news about the Montichiari velodrome, which is approaching its reopening, the end of this year brings good news for the Spresiano velodrome as well.
As reported by La Tribuna di Treviso, multiple offers have been received for the demolition tender closed on December 15th, a quick tender to eliminate a couple of ramps not functional to the new project: in January, the work assignment and the return of excavators after 76 very long months of stop.
During the Giro d'Onore, the Head of the Sports Department of the Presidency of the Council Flavio Siniscalchi explained: "The works will begin at the start of 2026 and I hope to see a complex and challenging process completed in two years. An extraordinary project, multi-disciplinary will add value to the facility".
The Spresiano velodrome will be available to the Cycling Federation and will host the 2031 Track World Championships, but will also be able to accommodate skating, hockey, basketball, volleyball, and other indoor disciplines.
The federal president Cordiano Dagnoni aims to bring the final months of preparation for Los Angeles 2028 to Lovadina: "I thank the government that has committed itself. I thank our Secretary General, Marcello Tolu, the Mayor of Spresiano, Marco Della Pietra, and the former Governor of Veneto Luca Zaia: it has been a great team effort".
