A climber, a time trial specialist, and a sprinter: these are the reinforcements chosen by Solme Olmo to aim for a 2026 that promises international ambitions. These are three 2005-born riders who have already confirmed their talent in the Under 23 category: Matteo Fiorin, Etienne Grimod, and Pietro Sterbini.
Matteo Fiorin, from Desio in Brianza, a track and race sprinter, already boasts two world titles in team pursuit and three junior European titles in elimination, madison, and team pursuit, along with a long series of national jerseys won on the track. In 2025, with the MBH Bank Csb jersey, among the Under 23, he scored victories in two classic races of great value, including Nerviano (Mi) and the queen of line classics, the Vicenza-Bionde.
Also Etienne Grimod, a native of Aosta, has important track successes and in 2025 finished fifth in the individual pursuit at the Elite World Track Championships in Apeldoorn. He has also recorded excellent performances on the road, often breaking away from far out: in 2025, with Biesse Carrera, he won the Targa Crocifisso in Polignano a Mare.
Pietro Sterbini, a Roman athlete who grew up in the Coratti Team, where he obtained four victories in the junior category, has faced his first two seasons in the Under 23 category with Team Technipes, standing out multiple times in the most challenging Italian and international events.
"These three riders allow us to take an additional step forward: they are three young athletes of great talent. Fiorin and Grimod have successfully alternated road and track activities for years, showing excellent qualities in both disciplines. Sterbini is a talent who still needs to learn his own limits, and we expect a lot from him in the most prestigious and challenging races," anticipated the President, Gian Pietro Forcolin.
