Alpecin of Mathieu van der Poel and Jasper Philipsen and Fenix of Puck Pieterse and Charlotte Kool are about to change their names: from January 1st, by virtue of the partnership signed with the Canadian brand Premier Tech, the two Belgian teams (both belonging to the World Tour) will be called Alpecin-Premier Tech and Fenix-Premier Tech.
The announcement came this morning with the official entry of the North American brand alongside the teams of the Roodhooft brothers, who, after the two-year renewal of the agreement with Alpecin, can now calmly orchestrate the future of their teams for at least the next two seasons.
"We are incredibly proud and excited to announce that Premier Tech will become our second main partner from 2026 onwards, supporting both our male and female WorldTeam and our development teams," the team said through their social channels.
"The Canadian company, founded in 1923 and active in more than 30 countries, specializes in horticultural products, water treatment solutions, and industrial automation systems. Thanks to its rich history and sincere commitment to the world of cycling, combined with its continuous ambition to help shape the future of this sport, we are confident that we can write a new and important chapter together."
With this important three-year agreement (with an option to renew for another three years) revealed, and noting that the former title sponsor Deceuninck will remain on board with a reduced role and space, we now await the final composition of the two teams, given that today there are officially 19 athletes under contract with the male formation and just 8 girls making up the female roster.
