The cycling world is mourning the loss of Emilio De Nardi, an entrepreneur from San Fior who always had a great passion for cycling, linking his name to Sanfiorese but especially to the G.S. De Nardi Pasta Montegrappa Bonaldo, a team that from 1993 to 2002 helped many champions grow and turn professional.
Back in 1968, Emilio De Nardi, who passed away at 85 years old, had founded the company bearing his name, De Nardi srl, which has always been involved in metal closures, garage doors, automations, doors and shutters, and over the years became a reference point for the entire territory. His sons Massimo and Nicola are now carrying on their father's legacy and continuing the business.
GianEnrico Zanardo's recollection is particularly moving, the technical manager of that G.S. De Nardi Pasta Montegrappa Bonaldo that wrote a small but significant page in cycling history: "Emilio De Nardi, known to everyone as 'Brick', was my President: it was an honor to work with him for me and for all those who, like me and before me, were fortunate and privileged to enjoy his generous support, his advice and his boundless passion! I am sure that, together with me, all the riders, technicians, staff members, collaborators and the many sponsor partners and supporters who worked alongside him will remember him as a generous sports enthusiast, great entrepreneur and a transparent and always fair person!"
Our editorial staff extends its deepest condolences to his wife Ilda, sons Nicola and Massimo, and the entire De Nardi family.
