Ewan Costiou, a twenty-two-year-old Breton cyclist who grew up with Arkéa–B&B Hotels, has signed with the Groupama–FDJ Cycling Team for the next two seasons.
"I am extremely happy to join the Groupama–FDJ Cycling Team. It's a team that has always fascinated me, since my cadet and junior years. I remember seeing Benoît Vaugrenard roadside during those years: he made me dream. Today, feeling the team's trust in me is a true source of pride. I started cycling at 15 years old, and what I love most about this sport is competition. Racing is what motivates me every day. I am an attacking cyclist, I like being on the attack. By joining Groupama–FDJ, I arrive with the ambition to help the team win and continue to progress in a demanding and team-oriented environment," explains the rider.
Philippe Mauduit, the team's technical director, adds: "Ewen is a rider we have been following for several years. He has this freshness, this strong desire to race and involve his teammates. He is an attacker at heart, instinctive and hardworking. What he has shown in recent seasons is very encouraging, and we feel he still has a lot of potential to express. With us, he will find an environment where he can continue to learn and grow. He fits perfectly into the new dynamic we are building around Romain, Bastien, Thibaud, Brieuc, and Clément. We can't wait to see him in action in our colors."
