Alessandro De Marchi's love for cycling began with a promotional gymkhana in Buja in the spring of '93, and now that his long professional cycling career has come to an end, he wants to focus on the youngest.
Bikes for kids! First cyclists, then champions was born from the desire of the Red from Buja, in the pro group from 2010 to 2025, to close the circle in his typical style. That means thinking of others and confirming his connection to his roots.
"In some way, I want to 'reproduce' the situation that got me started with bikes: this is how it all began. I imagined a two-day event primarily dedicated to children and then to fans and friends who have always followed me. Gymkhana and cones, mountain bike and off-road routes, readings, stories, and workshops about two wheels," says the 39-year-old who closes his career in Jayco Alula jersey after defending the colors of Androni, Cannondale, BMC, CCC, and Israel.
For adults, there's a bike ride planned, a convivial moment linked to charity, and finally a talk with questions and unmissable stories. The event is on Saturday, October 25th at the Monte di Buja recreational facility (Udine): the afternoon dedicated to the youngest includes a Workshop about the Cyclist with Gino Cervi, where participants will draw, think, and fantasize about two wheels, along with Gymkhana, MTB, and off-road trials by Ac Bujese & Jams Bike. The evening for big and small is titled "Let's Cut Thirst", featuring food, drinks, and a talk with stories and memories with Andrea Berton and Stefano Rizzato.
Sunday morning, don't miss the bike ride with Alessandro on the road, followed by pasta, beer, and the inevitable hanging up of the bike ceremony. To celebrate a great career, you need a great party. Have fun!
