Isaac Del Toro triumphs on San Luca. The Mexican talent has won the 108th Emilia Tour, beating Tom Pidock and Lenny Martinez. The Bologna classic remains with UAE Emirates, which the 21-year-old from Ensenada conquered through a long sprint that saw him ahead of the Q36.5 rider from England.
As tradition dictates, the race heated up in the final circuit where the Emirates team controlled various attacks before giving space to their captain, who adds his name to the honor roll following Tadej Pogacar. After progressively responding to Pidock's attack, he settled the score in the sprint, with the Bahrain Victorious French rider managing to climb to the third step of the podium. Fourth place for Egan Bernal, fifth for Primoz Roglic who failed to complete a historic quartet. No Italian riders made the top ten today.
"The team did an excellent job today, I stayed protected and in the end gave it my all," Del Toro commented, who we'll see racing on the roads of Northern Italy in the coming days as he has Coppa Agostoni, Tre Valli Varesine, and Gran Piemonte on his schedule.
