French rider Romain Gregoire pulled off a double victory in the fourth stage of the Tour of Britain, the 194.9 km Atherstone - Buron Dasset Hills Park route. In a finale that brought the general classification leaders to the forefront, the Groupama FDJ rider attacked in the last 500 meters with only Alaphilippe able to stay on his wheel, while Edoardo Zambanini finished third, 2 seconds behind. Remco Evenepoel was only 19th, after first attempting a breakaway 10 km from the finish and then finding himself struggling on the final climb.
In addition to the stage win, Gregoire also takes the leader's jersey.
