Filippo Zana will race for Soudal Quick-Step for the next two years: as a child, Filippo played football but then decided to join the cycling team of his Venetian city and eventually became a professional in 2020. Since then, he has built an impressive palmares, including overall victories at the Tour of Slovenia and Adriatica Ionica Race, a mountain stage at the Giro d'Italia, and the National Title.
Equally impressive have been the top ten results he has achieved in the last two years across a wide range of races, from Grand Tour stages to Strade Bianche, from Tour de Pologne to Italian Autumn Classics, demonstrating the remarkable versatility that has brought him to The Wolfpack's attention.
"I see my move to Soudal Quick-Step as an exciting and beautiful challenge and I can't wait to tackle it. It's a team with an incredible history and it motivates me to be part of it for the next two years. I hope to grow and achieve some beautiful victories, but I'm also determined to work together with my teammates towards our goals and show why this team is one of the best in the world," said an emotional Filippo.
Soudal Quick-Step CEO Jürgen Foré commented on Zana's transfer to the team: "Filippo is a rider who will strengthen our squad in stage races, but also in one-day hilly races, where he has often distinguished himself. From the conversations we've had, we've discovered that he is very motivated to grow further and contribute to the team, and this makes us confident and excited for the next two seasons."
