After an extremely long transfer - practically 500 km from Voiron, yesterday's stage finish - the Vuelta finally arrives in Spain and, without a rest day, restarts with a team time trial.

The race restarts from Figueres with a 24.1-kilometer team time trial: it will be run in the late afternoon to allow riders and staff to recover from travel fatigue and properly prepare their equipment for a demanding time trial.
The route is linear and flat, ideal for specialists: teams with more than one strong time trialist can make the difference compared to teams focused on climbers. It's difficult to predict who will wear the red jersey this evening: there shouldn't be major differences among the most credited teams, but the standings are so tight that it takes very little to find yourself at the top of the rankings or falling behind.
