Jacopo Mosca and Lidl-Trek will continue their journey together for two more seasons: the Italian has signed a contract extension until the end of 2027.
Mosca's first contract with Lidl-Trek dates back to 2016, when he joined as a stagiaire, before returning to the team full-time at the end of 2019. The Italian immediately got to work at the Vuelta a España, delivering a series of consistent performances in the most important cycling races.
In total, Mosca has raced five Giros d'Italia and two Vueltas a España, earning a reputation as one of the most reliable domestiques in the peloton. Whether leading a general classification rider up a decisive climb or setting the pace all day for a sprint, Jacopo is known for his selfless work ethic and ever-present smile.
"Personally, this year's Giro was a real highlight for me," said Jacopo Mosca. "It was something special not just for the Team, but also for me. Being part of this group after two years away from the Giro, coming back this way was truly beautiful. What we achieved was impressive. In the Team, I feel like part of the family. I never thought about anything other than continuing to race with this squad. It will be special to continue for two more years, and we never know what might happen after. In this Team, I think everyone knows what I can do, what my role is, and how much I enjoy working for great leaders, of course, but also helping some young riders develop their personal ambitions. I want to continue working and always aim to improve. To stay in this sport, you must demonstrate each year that you're getting stronger."
"Jacopo is a reliable and loyal rider we can trust to give 100% to the Team," declared Luca Guercilena, General Manager of Lidl-Trek. "Moreover, he is an intelligent cyclist who uses his race-reading experience to contribute to team discussions. To be successful, it's crucial to have riders like Jacopo who are willing to pedal unselfishly. He may not be the one crossing the finish line first, but his work is fundamental to our success and he celebrates our victories with the same joy as if they were his own. Having him on board is a resource for the Team".
