Fifth seasonal victory and consecutive win after his success in this race for the unleashed Mattia Gagliardoni Proietti Gagliardoni, the Umbrian rider from Team Franco Ballerini Lucchini Energy who turned 18 two days ago.
Proietti Gagliardoni's finale in this Giro della Media Lunigiana, 21st Memorial Antonio Colò, a national junior category race starting from Albiano Magra and finishing uphill in Barbarasco in the province of Massa Carrara, was spectacular. The winner impressed those following the race with his courageous and thrilling descent, demonstrating extreme lucidity and crossing the finish line with arms raised for his fifth seasonal success.
With this form, Mattia can aspire to other achievements in upcoming races with a special thought to the Giro della Lunigiana stage race and the blue jersey. In the places of honor, the excellent Pietro Galbusera and British rider Finn O'Brien, at the end of a race with a challenging and difficult route that also remembered Aurelio Del Rio, an outstanding Ligurian rider from Bracelli (the race passed in front of his monument twice) who was a protagonist on the Stelvio in the 1956 Giro d'Italia. Another emotional remembrance of the Ligurian-Tuscan race organized by Pedale Spezzino and Paolo and Alessandro Colò was dedicated to Samuele Privitera, who had won this competition in 2023.
