Belgian Jasper Stuyven will wear the Soudal Quick-Step jersey for the next three years. Jasper turned professional in 2014 and has established himself as one of the most solid riders in the peloton, with the highlight of his career so far being his memorable victory on Via Roma at the 2021 Milano-Sanremo.
In addition to "La Primavera", Stuyven's palmares includes victories in the two opening weekend races – Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne – along with six top-ten finishes in the two cobbled Monuments, Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix, the most recent of which came earlier this year when he finished fifth in Flanders.
Born in Leuven on April 17, 1992, Jasper is excited to join Soudal Quick-Step next season: "I'm happy to be joining the Wolfpack. When I started cycling, this team was one of the first I got to know, and it will be nice to be part of a Belgian team after so many years. I bring a lot of experience that I'll try to pass on to younger riders, but also to the sprint trains. Soudal Quick-Step has always been present in the Classics, these races are in the team's DNA, and this makes me confident for next year, because this team is perfect for me and I am perfect for them. I can't wait to find my place in this team. I know how motivated everyone here is for one-day races and we'll do our best to be at the top for them".
"I've won a Monument and a couple of cobbled Classics in my career, but if there's one race that remains a goal, it's Paris-Roubaix. That, and winning a stage at the Tour de France," Jasper continued, winner of Paris-Roubaix Juniors in 2010. "I can't wait to meet everyone. I already know some people in the team: Yves Lampaert, against whom I've raced many times, so it'll be nice to be teammates next year; there's also Louis Vervaeke, with whom I used to rent houses in Italy or Spain when we became professionals and were at the start of our careers. Last but not least, there's Bert Van Lerberghe, who is my age and whom I've faced in many races. So, there are many reasons why I'm excited about this move and this new chapter of my career".
"Jasper is one of the best Belgian riders around, and we're happy he will race for us starting next year. He's cut out for the Classics, has an impressive palmares for these races, but his enormous experience and qualities will also help us in other races. We are confident he will easily integrate into the team and strengthen our roster for the one-day cobbled races that we all love so much and where we aim to continue being protagonists. We'll also work together to win stages in the Grand Tours and help Jasper realize his dream of winning a stage at the Tour de France," said Jürgen Foré, CEO of Soudal Quick-Step.
