Following the tests performed yesterday, in accordance with UCI protocols, Tobias Johannessen will start today's stage. Hospital examinations including blood tests, X-rays, and ultrasounds have ruled out any ongoing issues. The Norwegian rider will therefore be at the start of today's stage.
Tobias Johannessen experienced stomach cramps on the left side yesterday. The pain intensified, and at the finish line on Mont Ventoux, he was assisted with oxygen and saline solution. Although the Uno X rider had stated he was feeling better, he was taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital for examinations and monitoring.
The current assessment attributes the discomfort to the physical effort of climbing to the finish line.
