The second Grand Tour of the women's cycling season is approaching, and UAE Team ADQ is preparing with great enthusiasm to tackle the Giro d'Italia Women.
Eight stages are scheduled, from July 6 to 13, starting on Sunday from the city of Bergamo with an individual time trial (Saturday evening at 6:30 PM there will be the team presentation at ChorusLife) and finishing inside the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Racetrack in Imola.
The course includes terrain for all types of riders and a very challenging finale. The reigning champion Elisa Longo Borghini, fresh from confirming her Italian title, will be the leader of UAE Team ADQ, which is fielding a compact squad around its captain.
"The course is very beautiful, somewhat reminiscent of last year's, and as the week progresses the stages will become increasingly difficult, with the last two deciding the Giro. There will be many contenders for the general classification and the pink jersey. Personally, I feel in good condition and hope to have a good race and be satisfied at the end of the Giro d'Italia. I have prepared well, and I have teammates and a strong team who believe in me, and we will certainly give our maximum effort," said Elisa Longo Borghini.
LINE UP: Elisa Longo Borghini, Alena Amialiusik, Brodie Chapman, Eleonora Gasparrini, Erica Magnaldi, Greta Marturano, Silvia Persico.
Sports Directors: Nicolas Marche, Cherie Pridham, Alejandro Gonzalez-Tablas, Aida Nuño.
