Less than a week before the official start, scheduled for July 6th in Bergamo, the list of registered riders for the Giro d'Italia Women has been announced, featuring big names. The day before, Saturday, July 5th at 6 PM, the official team presentation will take place at the ChorusLife in Bergamo.

After the exciting duel of 2024, which saw them neck and neck until the last 2 km of the final stage, Elisa Longo Borghini and Lotte Kopecky are again among the main favorites for the Pink Jersey. However, the situation has changed compared to a year ago: the Italian rider has left Lidl-Trek after six seasons to wear the colors of UAE Team ADQ, while the world champion will have to share team leadership with Anna Van der Breggen, already four-time Giro winner and returning to competition after three years of absence. Among the athletes capable of finishing in the top 10 in 2024 and announced at the start are also Paulina Rooijakkers (4th), Juliette Labous (5th), Antonia Niedermaier (6th), Gaia Realini (7th) and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (8th). Great anticipation also for Marlen Reusser, fresh from her victory at the Tour de Suisse Women and second place at La Vuelta Femenina, who will lead the Movistar Team. Keep an eye on possible outsiders like Monica Trinca Colonel, Evita Muzic, Yara Kastelijn and Barbara Malcotti.

The list of stage victory contenders is also substantial. Above all, the name of Lorena Wiebes stands out, European champion and already winner of Sanremo Women, with 12 seasonal victories: she will be the sprinter to beat. Among her main rivals are Marianne Vos, three-time Giro winner, and Chiara Consonni, still without a win in 2025 but already capable of winning three stages in the past. Other fast wheels to follow: Liane Lippert, Silvia Zanardi, Christina Schweinberger, Georgia Baker and Anniina Ahtosalo. The list of stage hunters – from the opening time trial to the most exciting stages – is equally rich: Elizabeth Deignan, Marta Cavalli, Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, Pfeiffer Georgi, Veronica Ewers, Ane Santesteban, Sarah Gigante, Sara Casasola, Eleonora Ciabocco, Soraya Paladin and Shirin Van Anrooij will be names to watch.

For the 2025 edition, the Giro d'Italia Women will enjoy international television coverage, confirming itself as one of the highlights of the women's cycling calendar. Every day, starting from 12:50 PM, it will be possible to follow the race live on RaiSport HD with network switch to Rai2 from 2 PM until the end of the stage. At the same times, Discovery+ will broadcast the race live and on-demand while on Eurosport it will be shown daily after the Tour de France. Remaining in Europe, in Switzerland SSR SRG will provide news updates.

RTL 102.5 will be the official radio of the event and will follow the Giro d'Italia Women stage by stage, narrating every moment in its programs and news bulletins.
