Four athletes from the ECOTEK team will participate in the upcoming Italian Championships in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia with their respective regional team jerseys. Enrico Andrea Balliana, Thomas Martinelli, Gabriele Peluso, and Tommaso Salogni have been called up to participate in one of the season's key events.
"These call-ups should be experienced as an important moment of growth," explained team manager Marco Zanotti. "These guys are having a good season and deserve this opportunity."
The seriousness of the ECOTEK Team project is thus enriched with a new piece, and the spirit of these athletes remains the same: commitment, professionalism, and the desire to give their best. Three regional selections have chosen the team's athletes, led by Luigi Braghini: Lombardy has called up Thomas Martinelli and Tommaso Salogni, Piedmont has selected Gabriele Peluso, while Enrico Andrea Balliana will wear the Sardinian team jersey.
"Martinelli is coming off a good form period, he's pedaling strong, is improving, and could be there in the final stages of the road race," Marco Zanotti explains. "Peluso can also be in the race and remain among the 30-40 riders who will compete for the title. We'll also see what Balliana does: he's slightly down after a good Giro del Friuli, but this week he should recover and be back in form just in time for Sunday. For Salogni, we're crossing our fingers. This year he's always done well in the time trial, let's see how he'll do in the against-the-clock event."
There are two dates to mark on the calendar. It starts on Sunday, June 22nd with the Italian Road Championship in Trieste, with a start at 10:40 AM for a total of 133 km, while the Italian Time Trial Championship will be awarded on Wednesday, June 25th in San Vito al Tagliamento on a 17.5 km course, starting around 2:45 PM.
