
Thirty-one teams and 155 athletes, including 66 young riders (born in 2008) and 36 Tuscans, will compete from June 27 to 29 in the fourth Valdera Junior Tour organized by the Una Bici X Tutti society from Pontedera with their passionate group, whose capabilities are widely recognized. At the Chalet Le Terme, the official race presentation was attended by Federciclismo vice-president Saverio Metti, Tuscany Regional Committee President Luca Menichetti, and Pisa Committee President Benedetto Piccinini. Representing Tuscany Region was councilor Alessandra Nardini, Chianni Mayor Giacomo Tarrini, and representatives from Pontedera, Ponsacco, Casciana Terme Lari, and Terricciola municipalities, who highlighted the race's technical, competitive, and territorial promotion aspects, emphasizing the discovery of enchanting places as noted by Claudio De Angeli, the organizing society's president.
The Valdera Tour will also commemorate those who left us too soon, such as Davide Faraoni, Mario Rifiuti, and Laura Paperini, and will feature six special jerseys for various classifications. Sponsors include Tuscany Region, Ecofor Service, Magazzini Mangini, Montesi Impianti Elettrici, Pietro De Angeli-Franchi Umberto Marmi, and Valdera Distribuzione Bevande. The first three editions of the race were won by Leonardo Volpato, Luca Giaimi, and Andrea Montagner.
THE STAGES:
27/6 Pontedera (meeting at Cavour Square) starting at 2 PM, with arrival in Ponsacco after 103 km and 800 meters.
28/6 From Casciana Terme (start at 2 PM) to Chianni, undoubtedly the most challenging of the three planned stages, 85.7 km with an uphill finish.
29/6 The final stage from La Rosa location (start at 12:30 PM) to Terricciola, 111.5 km with a slight uphill finish.
