
The twelfth Pietro Zipponi Memorial returns this year, a race reserved for the male Junior category scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday) in Brione (Brescia), organized by the Aspiratori Otelli Sports Group chaired by Simone Pontara in collaboration with the volunteer organization "Pietro's Friends".
The race will officially start at 9:30 am from Ome (kilometer zero). The conclusion will be after 103 kilometers and 400 meters. The route includes a circuit to be repeated ten times, touching the municipalities of Monticelli Brusati, Provaglio d'Iseo and again Monticelli Brusati. The final part of the race will involve the territories of Ome, Rodengo Saiano, Gussago and Brione for the finish. Just over two kilometers from the finish line, there will be the Mountain Grand Prix in the Aquilini location at 580 meters above sea level. Two hundred and three riders are registered, representing 31 teams, including the Australian St Kilda Cycling Club (already present in 2024). In the previous edition, the victory went to Brescian Andrea Donati, who in the 2024 season wore the colors of Ciclistica Trevigliese.
At the start will also be the home team Aspiratori Otelli Alchem CWC, which will line up Mattia Spotti, Federico Saccani, Sebastiano Tavelli, Alessandro Marzocchi, Daniel Bartolotta, Filippo Marocchi, Mattia Serini, Giona Bonomi, Marcin Wlodarski and Nicola Triboldi. Excused absences include Francesco Baruzzi, protagonist in blue at the National Grand Prix "F.W.R. Baron" (Nations' Cup Junior stage race) which will conclude tomorrow, and Matteo Scofet, who today participated in the Classique des Alpes (international Junior race in France) with the Piedmont Regional Committee jersey. Closing the circle of the team from Sarezzo's Sunday, the participation of Allievi in Casazza (Bergamo) and Esordienti in Mazzano (Brescia).
