Cycling can present itself in a thousand facets and can offer emotions in different forms: competitive, promotional, educational, and social, for example. This is exactly what happens in Guidizzolo, in the province of Mantua, where the historic Ciclo Club 77 will organize the 1st Maria Strangis Trophy on June 15th, an international event reserved for handbike champions.
Cycling will also be the instrument to say thank you to Maria Strangis and to remember her as a woman who dedicated her life to her family and others through social commitment, becoming a point of reference for the entire Guidizzolo community.
The event, which will also be the 9th stage of the Italian Cup, was officially presented at the Masec in the presence of numerous institutional authorities, starting with the Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli, MPs Carlo Maccari and Andrea Dara, regional councilor Alessandra Cappellari, Provincial President Carlo Bottani, Prefect Roberto Bolognesi, Police Chief Annarita Santantonio, representatives from the Financial Guard, Carabinieri and Local Police, Don Mirko Frignani, parish priest of Guidizzolo, and Mayor Stefano Meneghelli.
Also present were the mayors of Marmirolo Elena Betteghella and Medole Luca Vivaldini. In addition to them, the president of the Guidizzolo Pro Loco Michele Pezzaioli, regional FCI vice president Cinzia Ghisellini, with councilor Adriano Roverselli, provincial representative Fausto Armanini, and Mantua race judges Ilenia Menini and Alessandro Bertazzoni also attended.
A long list that testifies to the importance of the event and the appreciation for the great work done in youth and social areas by Ciclo Club 77.
