First victory in the Juniors category for Sebastiano Tavelli, riding for Aspiratori Otelli Alchem CWC, who today could celebrate his success in Floridia (Syracuse) in the mixed Juniors-Under 23 race.
The Brescia-born rider, class of 2007, outpaced even more experienced athletes with an attack five kilometers from the end on the final climb of the course. "The race" - recounts the eighteen-year-old cyclist from Botticino Sera (born on February 14th) - "saw an initial breakaway of four Under 23 athletes, with another Junior we rejoined the leading group, remaining six for a couple of laps. The other counter-attacker then dropped off, three Under 23s were victims of a crash, so we were left with me and another Under 23 athlete, whom I managed to drop in the final stages of the race. I'm happy to be back to winning, which I had missed for a couple of years since my last victory in Rescaldina as a second-year Allievo. In 2025, this is my first podium, after fourth place at home in the Trofeo Bigmat Maflan in Sarezzo and sixth place in Cotignola. I was missing the taste of success, now let's hope to maintain a good pace".
