JUNIOR WOMEN | 17/05/2025 | 08:05
The weekend in the Marche region begins with a bang for the Team Biesse Carrera Zambelli, immediately taking center stage in the first day of the International Cycling Festival. In the inaugural time trial of Porto San Giorgio, 14 kilometers long, the "orange" team immediately made a strong statement with their Junior Women's formation. The feat belongs to Maria Acuti, from Mantua, born in 2008 and in her first year among the Juniors. Stopping the clock at 18 minutes 43 seconds 480, Acuti achieved a double victory, winning both the category classification and the provisional overall ranking, by virtue of the best time even compared to the more experienced Elite riders. Maria thus provisionally conquered two jerseys: the white jersey for best young rider and the red jersey as event leader. In the Junior category, Varese's Erja Giulia Bianchi also secured sixth place.
Tomorrow the line race with start and finish in Porto San Giorgio, while on Sunday the three-day event will conclude with the Urbisaglia stage.
