The passing of Fabrizio Borra has stirred immense emotion, and numerous messages have flooded social media, paying tribute to him, expressing gratitude, and caressing a memory. We've chosen three that seemed most significant: one from track and field, signed by Gianmarco Tamberi, one from cycling, written by Giulio Ciccone just before the third stage, and the third from the entertainment world, signed by Jovanotti.
This is our way of saying thank you and wishing a good journey to a great friend: goodbye Fabrizio!
GIANMARCO TAMBERI'S MEMORY
Look at these eyes... I could have put a million photos together with him, but please look at these eyes....
Last night before falling asleep, I was tossing and turning in bed thinking about the words I wanted to tell you this afternoon when we were supposed to meet. I wanted to give you the strength to fight a little longer, I wanted to help you believe like you always did with me. This Sunday morning's awakening was like a knife to the heart. From the joy of being able to see you again to that message that pierces you and leaves an unfillable void.
Look at these eyes...
Look at these eyes because you'll understand that every word of mine is superfluous in front of a man of this caliber. A man who conquered the biggest dreams and entered the heart of anyone lucky enough to know him. A man who was by my side every single day since 2016, when my career seemed to be over.
A man who did all this with a sea of champions and entertainment stars, from Marco Pantani to Lorenzo Jovanotti, from Fernando Alonso to Fiorello - anyone who passed through his magical hands managed to return to success.
And please look at those eyes...
The pride of someone who knows they've done everything to help the person they're watching triumph.
The joy of someone bound by a deep and true feeling. Because those eyes are happy for themselves, but are especially happy for who is admiring having taken their life back in hand after many difficulties.
The genuineness of a man who has achieved everything in life but is still capable of being moved like the first time, even after so many years.
Always present in difficult moments, always a step back in moments of success!
How much I already miss you Fabri....
I hope to be worthy of bringing into my life all the teachings that those eyes are able to transmit to me. Thank you for everything you've done for me, thank you for being part of my family and thank you for letting me into yours.
My big brother, I love you with all my soul!!!
To Fabrizio Borra, one of the most incredible people I've ever had the fortune to meet!
Gianmarco
GIULIO CICCONE'S MEMORY
You were one of the kindest and most available people I've ever known.
Always ready to help, always with a smile.
It was an honor to know you.
Thank you for everything
Giulio
JOVANOTTI'S MEMORY
This morning at dawn @fabrifisio, the "coach", left us. We were friends and worked together since 1996, and until a few days ago, as long as he could stand, he kept me and all his "athletes" standing. He was an undisputed pioneer for physiotherapists and trainers, an innovator who knew how to merge different knowledge to create his method that varied based on the psychophysical characteristics of those seeking his help. He rehabilitated champions from every sport and performing art where the body is an instrument that must be well to express itself at its best. Now his boys @luca_borra and @dani_borra @fisiologycenter will collect the legacy as Fabrizio would have wanted. The last time we spoke, a few days ago, he was happy because he knew his boys, whom he trained, would continue and would even develop the method. Before falling ill a year ago, he was working on a book to tell his colleagues about his experience with champion athletes and people of all types dealing with often difficult situations to recover and bodies to rehabilitate and "tune".
I loved the coach, we spent beautiful moments together, in the most important moments of my life, in happy and difficult passages he was always with me and my family. We laughed and cried together, we suffered and rejoiced together, he helped me overcome obstacles and we never lost lightness and trust.
A strong hug to his Enia on this day when mothers are celebrated.
What remains is his lesson for all of us who knew him and were helped by him: head high and move forward, smile, welcome, humanity and study every day, the rest we don't decide.
Goodbye "coach", also on behalf of my family and the entire tour team.
Lorenzo
