Today we return to the Tour of Flanders, the great festival of Belgian cycling. The roads will be crowded and while last year Antwerp's large square was a carpet of people, this year the romantic Bruges will kick off this great celebration. Riders will start from the Market Square and the route, which maintains its characteristics, will have only a few small variations. They will arrive in Oudenaarde after covering 268.9 kilometers.

In the first hundred kilometers of the race, the group will pass through the centers of Beernem, Aalter and Zulte. A little further on, after 109 kilometers, there will be the first cobblestone section, the Doorn. Shortly after follows the first of three climbs of the Oude Kwaremont. The second climb of the day is the Eikenberg, which was not part of the route in 2024, when the race started from Antwerp.

There is also a modification compared to 2023, after Eikenberg, Wolvenberg and Holleweg, the Karel Martelstraat replaces the cobblestone section of Kerkgate. There will therefore be some small changes, but the finale of the Tour of Flanders remains the same. It begins with the Jagerij cobblestones, climbing the Molenberg, Paddestraat, Berendries and finally the Valkenberg in a span of thirty kilometers.

The top of the Valkenberg is just under 90 kilometers from the finish line and therefore the riders will still have to suffer a lot. At this point, the cyclists will have covered 180 kilometers and will certainly be tired. However, after the Valkenberg is the right time to expect something important and decisive. Something could therefore happen on the Berg Ten Houte or on the Hotond, the subsequent climbs of the route. After the Hotond, the route continues for the second time towards the Oude Kwaremont and then will go quickly towards the Paterberg, 340 meters long.

The first passage of the Paterberg always provides fireworks, this is because the Koppenberg, a crucial point of the race, is approaching. The very tough Koppenberg is the place where the favorites will undoubtedly show themselves and the Steenbeekdries with the Taaienberg that will come immediately after, will only be a bonus for those with ambitions to win. After the Taaienberg you reach the Hotond and at this point, there will be about ten kilometers to the last passage of the Oude Kwaremont, located 16.7 kilometers from the finish line. Here the favorites should already be in a breakaway and one can expect war between the last survivors or an attack from someone wanting to arrive alone. 13.2 kilometers from the finish line, the Paterberg reappears, which will be the cherry on top for the most explosive riders.

After the Paterberg, there will only be flat kilometers towards Oudenaarde, where the finish line is located. Covering thirteen kilometers alone will not be an easy task, because the wind can often increase significantly creating difficulties for those in the breakaway, but if there is a large group, then there will be the possibility of seeing a sprint on the wide Minderbroedersstraat in Oudenaarde, where the name of the winner of the 108th Tour of Flanders will be decided.
