The E3 Saxo Classic returns today, the Belgian race now in its 67th edition. It will be a beautiful race that will wind through the roads and walls of the Flemish Ardennes, covering a distance of 208 kilometers. This will also be a race in preparation for the Tour of Flanders, which will be held next April 6th.

There are 17 walls in the E3 Saxo Classic and once again Mathieu van der Poel will be present, who after winning this race in 2024, now wants to win it again to prove that after Milan-Sanremo he is still the strongest.

The start and finish are in Harelbeke, with riders pedaling to Geraardsbergen. Midway, the group will encounter some hills, and the first selection will begin with the Taaienberg, Knokteberg, and Kanarieberg.

From this moment, the race will become nervous and there will be no shortage of shocks that will hurt some riders, but the real race will start later, when they will have to tackle the Stationberg and Kapelberg, followed by the Paterberg-Oude Kwaremont duo. When they reach these sectors, there will be no more joking because the gradients on the Paterberg will reach up to 20%.

Then it will be the turn of the Karnemelkbeekstraat and Iegemberg, which will be tackled when there are 20 kilometers left to the finish.

The finale will remain unchanged with the peloton returning to Harelbeke. The last kilometers do not present any difficulties and the finish line will come after a long flat stretch alongside the Forestiers Stadium.

There are many important top riders who will be at the start of this mini Tour of Flanders, as the E3 Saxo Classic is often called in Belgium. The number one favorite remains Mathieu van der Poel, followed by Wout Van Aert, who returns to racing after spending a period at altitude in Spain. Then there's Filippo Ganna, who after a Milan-Sanremo as a great protagonist, could find redemption in this E3 Saxo Classic. The competition is high and there are many strong riders, starting with Mads Pedersen and continuing with Jasper Stuyven, Biniam Girmay, Julian Alaphilippe. If the winner doesn't emerge from these, then a bet could be placed on Matej Mohoric, Stefan Küng, Valentin Madouas, Ivan Romeo, Michael Matthews, Oier Lazkano or Laurence Pithie.
