RED BULL BORA HANSGROHE. VILA: "THE GOALS? WIN A TOUR AND BE COMPETITIVE... EVERYWHERE"

In the wishlist of Primoz Roglic is becoming the rider with the most victories in the Vuelta a España, but the Slovenian champion will have to wait, because his team's sponsors have decided to focus on the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France.
2025 will not be the year when Roglic will try to win the fifth red jersey, and his appointment will be postponed to a date to be determined. Saying this is Patxi Vila, sports director of Red Bull - Bora Hansgrohe, the German team of Primoz Roglic.
"We are approaching the season with great enthusiasm. This year we have strengthened ourselves a lot - Vila told the Spanish press -: we have a very strong team and we can't wait to improve. We are dedicating a lot of time to structuring and organizing things".
The desires of riders do not always align with the decisions of management and sponsors, and at Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe, Roglic's will to race the Vuelta to try to win it again has not been accepted by the team: for contractual and strategic reasons, the Slovenian will have to participate in the Giro and the Tour.
"These are the priorities of the sponsors and the team, and that's how it went. In his wishlist is becoming the rider with the most victories in the Vuelta, but this year the team has decided to have him participate in the Giro and the Tour," Vila reiterates.
In the German team, some riders with excellent qualities have arrived, and among these are Fisher-Black, Lazkano, Pellizzari, Tratnik and Van Gils, who could bring important results.
"We have an excellent mix of promising young riders and riders who have already achieved important results like Primoz. I think the balance between them will be better and we will also be more competitive on more routes compared to last year. In 2024 we had ups and downs, but I think in 2025 we will be more balanced and consistent".
Red Bull - Bora Hansgrohe has made significant investments with the aim of improving last year's results, focusing on the grand tours with Roglic, Nartinez, Vlasov and Hindley and with van Gils for one-day races.
"Ideally for us this year would be to win a grand tour, as we have done in the past with Hindley and Roglic. The Classics are also important. We must be competitive on any route".
