On the sidelines of the XXVIII International Vincenzo Torriani Award, whose presentations at the Madonna del Ghisallo our correspondent Giorgia Monguzzi reported on today, there was also a moment dedicated to a great former cyclist: Dutch rider Tom Dumoulin, winner of the Giro d'Italia in 2017, has donated his pink jersey, that maglia rosa, to the Museo del Ciclismo, an increasingly important gallery of champions and the history of cycling.
As can be read in the official statement, prepared by the museum's press office curated by colleague Luciana Rota, Dumoulin "paid particular attention to visiting the rooms and collections, lingering over the memorabilia, bicycles and stories of the great protagonists of cycling. A thorough visit, experienced with curiosity and interest in the heritage preserved at Ghisallo. He also spent time with the numerous fans and enthusiasts present, posing for meetings and photographs and turning his unexpected arrival into one of the most emotional moments of the day."
