Team SD Worx-Protime has signed Axelle Dubau-Prévot through 2028. The 30-year-old French cyclist has impressed the team's management in recent months. In particular, her tenth-place finish at Liège-Bastogne-Liège demonstrates her qualities and potential. "We are convinced that Axelle still has considerable room for improvement," says sports director Danny Stam.

Although Axelle Dubau-Prévot has been cycling for years, she does not yet have an extensive road racing career behind her. However, she has extensive experience in cyclocross, mountain biking, trail running, and gravel racing. During an adventurous cycling vacation in 2022, she discovered the latter discipline, which immediately captured her heart. She soon achieved impressive results in the UCI Gravel World Series. Among her successes, she won the Gravel Burn by taking 4 of the 6 stages, finished second twice at the Traka, and won the French national gravel title.

Her performances on gravel terrain did not go unnoticed by the major WorldTour teams. For 2026, she signed a contract with EF Education-Oatly, where she was able to compete in a mixed road and gravel program. She made her mark not only at Liège-Bastogne-Liège but also by winning the bronze medal at the European Gravel Championships.

The younger sister of Pauline Ferrand-Prévot had been on Team SD Worx-Protime's radar since the UAE Tour in February. "Axelle impresses positively on hilly terrain," says Stam. "Precisely because we want to strengthen our team for the Ardennes classics, she is a perfect cyclist for us. Since she had to ride many races in a support role last season, we haven't yet seen the best of her. She certainly still has room for improvement in the mountains."

"It was only in 2026 that I became a full-time professional for the first time," says Axelle Dubau-Prévot. "Before that, I balanced cycling with my work as a nutritionist. I knew I had talent, but I asked myself: what if I tried to dedicate myself to it completely? It was a turning point. Then I joined EF Education-Oatly, where, after the UAE Tour, I hoped to participate in races like Strade Bianche or Milan-San Remo. That didn't happen. Two days before the Ardennes classics, I was suddenly called up. It was my chance. I immediately got along well with Noemi Rüegg and Magdeleine Vallieres Mill. I put all my passion and determination into those races. When I feel well supported, I'm determined to do my best for my teammates."

"After Liège-Bastogne-Liège, I received calls from several teams. I decided to take a gamble with Team SD Worx-Protime. I've been following this team for years. Being part of it now is a dream. It's a somewhat surreal feeling: ten years ago my career was essentially over, and now, at thirty, I suddenly find myself as a member of one of the best cycling teams in the world. I am completely dedicated to road cycling. It was an easy choice."

"My sister Pauline is an inspiration. Seeing her win the Tour de France Femmes was something truly special. Being French, I have the ambition to participate in the Tour. It would be fantastic to do it for the first time with Team SD Worx-Protime. Anna van der Breggen is also a source of inspiration for me for many years. For so many reasons. She's a legend. She's always calm and focused on her goals. She won everything, retired, and then came back to compete at the highest level. It's my dream to be able to race the Ardennes classics alongside her."

"What are the areas where I need to improve? Even though I'm already thirty, in the cycling world I still feel quite young. I still have so much to learn. I want to become more consistent. You can be a strong cyclist, but above all you need to know how to win a race. At SD Worx-Protime there are many athletes from whom I can learn and whom I also want to help in the best way possible."

"If my personality were a race, it would definitely be Liège-Bastogne-Liège," she says with a laugh. "I'm explosive, I have my ups and downs, but I have a huge heart. I care about people and I would be willing to go through fire for my teammates."
