The season of Giovani Giussanesi opened with a podium narrowly missed by Junior Emanuele Parianotti in the Volta Mantovana race. The athlete from Ossola, already author of great performances in 2025 during his first year with the Brianza-based team, finished fourth on Sunday and in the coming days will be engaged in the first international trip of this season.
Giovani Giussanesi, in fact, will begin its customary international calendar on Sunday by racing the GP HK7, a UCI 1.1 category race that will take place in Les Franqueses del Vallès, in Catalonia. The competition, whose honours list also features Adrià Pericas, currently a professional with UAE Team Emirates – XRG, will be held over a total distance of 135 kilometres and will be characterized by a rolling course with several categorized climbs at stake.
Leading the team from the team car will be Giampaolo Cheula who during the trip will benefit from the valuable collaboration of Giovanni Aloè and Emanuele Piazza.
"Racing abroad for Giovani Giussanesi is no longer a novelty, and this year we have already planned participation in ten races outside Italy. We start with this appointment in Spain with the objective of performing well, and in the coming weeks we will then race events from the French and Swiss calendars," declares the former professional.
He continues: "Naturally we will also be present at all the most important races on the Italian calendar. The objective for Giovani Giussanesi does not change; we want to allow our athletes to gain as much experience as possible and arrive at the category jump prepared to face athletes from other nations. Our way of operating is now well-established and this year too I would like to thank for their support the president D'Aprile, the creators of this project Brenna and Poggiali, and all the team managers".
The lineup chosen to race the GP HK7 in Spain is made up of Parianotti, De Mercanti, Brustia, Acquaviva, Muraro, Sorci and La Scala.
