The recent events and geopolitical uncertainty in Venezuela do not seem to cast doubt on the running of the Vuelta al Táchira, a UCI class 2.2 race scheduled from January 9 to 18.
Josmer Cuadros, vice president of the race's organizing committee, has reassured teams and fans. "The Vuelta al Táchira will take place without any modifications, and from Wednesday the first foreign teams will arrive in San Cristóbal" the executive stated in an interview with l'Escalador.
According to reports from ACN, none of the ten scheduled stages will undergo route changes, and the authorities of Tachira State (located approximately 800 kilometers from Caracas) are in close contact with security officials to ensure the competition's execution.
Meanwhile, the race's social media channels have announced the press conference for the 61st edition of the race tomorrow, January 7th. "Discover all the details of this sporting celebration," the organizers write.
Among the teams on the provisional participant list are GW Erco Shimano, the Bolivian Continental Pío Rico Cycling Team, the Cuban national team, and several club teams affiliated in Venezuela and Mexico.
