Lidl Trek looks to the future and presents the athletes who will race in the American team's development squad in 2026: six new faces will join.
This season, Lidl‑Trek Future Racing returned to the roads with renewed ambitions, building on last year's results with a roster ready to grow and make its mark. The young squad tackled a full UCI Continental calendar, targeting selected stage races, one-day classics, and national events, aiming to seize opportunistic victories and gain valuable experience along the way.
2025 was a turning point, with several standout performances across Europe. Jakob Söderqvist led the team, winning the individual time trial at the Tour of Denmark and capturing the Swedish national time trial title, plus a second place in the U23 Paris-Roubaix, behind our Albert Withen Philipsen. Patrick Frydkjær secured an early victory at the Circuit des Ardennes and, on the track, Héctor Álvarez won the U23 European Omnium title, a week after an impressive performance with the pro team at the Tour of Austria.
With several confirmed riders and new talents arriving, the team is determined to capitalize on the favorable moment, supporting each other in development, gaining experience in key races and showcasing the depth of the Future Racing program.
Lidl-Trek Future Racing Sports Director, Sebastian Andersen, stated: "It was another incredible season, with most of our guys reaching a new level. It wasn't easy to replicate last year's fantastic year, but the riders rose to the challenge perfectly and, in almost all races, achieved results. We can be proud that our riders continue to grow, develop, and get closer to their potential. We will continue to work on this path and can't wait to take on a new challenge in 2026 with six new riders!"
