The Spanish team Burgos Burpellet BH announced yesterday a new addition to their roster. Alexandre Mayer, a 27-year-old Mauritian puncheur, has signed a contract that will see him engaged immediately and at least until the end of 2026 with the Professional team of Castilian origin.
Mayer comes from Foran CCC, a British club team with which he recently secured several podium finishes. In the curriculum of the rider from Curepipe, a location in the center of Mauritius, there are also experiences with French teams and most importantly four victories: the road race at the African Games held in Ghana in 2024, and three editions of the national road championships.
Alexandre Mayer's adventure with Burgos Burpellet BH will begin precisely with the Mauritian championships taking place this weekend (tomorrow the time trial and Sunday the road race, ed). In the races that will award the jersey with four colors, Kim Le Court will also be competing: the current national champion, winner of the Liège – Bastogne – Liège 2025, has been on the island for a few days and yesterday through social media wanted to congratulate Alexandre on joining Burgos Burpellet BH.
