TURCHIA. Volata imperiosa di André Greipel, terzo Pelucchi
| 23/04/2012 | 15:11 Antalya incorona André Greipel: il tedesco della Lotto Belisol ha imposto la sua legge levandosi praticamente tutti di ruota nella volata che ha chiuso la seconda tappa del Giro di Turchia. Partito ai 250 metri, Greipel ha preceduto Matthew Goss che, grazie agli abbuoni, diventa il nuovo leader della classifica generale e il giovane Matteo Pelucchi della Europcar. La corsa è stata caratterizzata dal km 50 ai meno 5 dal traguardo dalla fuga di: Alexandre Vinokourov (Astana), Paolo Locatelli (Colnago), Matteo Fedi (Utensilnord), Laurent Pichon (Bretagne Schuller) e Lazlo Bodrogi (team Type 1). Il finale è stato vivacizzato dalla bagarre promossa dai team dei velocisti. Sul traguardo di Antalya gioia e dolori per i colori azzurri: Petacchi si è praticamente rialzato alla curva posta ad un chilometro e mezzo, Guardini - che aveva fatto lavorare a lungo la squadra - non è andato oltre il decimo posto, Chicchi si è fermato al sesto, Guarnieri conferma di star bene giungendo settimo, ma il migliore di tutti è stato il ventitreenne di Rogeno (Lc) Pelucchi, che prima di salire sul podio con due colossi della volate ha così commentato il suo piazzamento odierno: «Sono finito (scherza, ndr)! Goss è rimasto un po' indietro all'ultima curva, io avevo scelto di curare lui e di arrangiarmi da solo perché con questi squadroni è dura organizzare un treno all'altezza. Grazie al lavoro del suo compagno di squadra siamo riusciti a recuperare terreno, abbiamo fatto l'ultimo chilometro davvero a tutta e ci siamo ritrovati in testa, ai 300 mt dall'arrivo Greipel ci ha superato a un'andatura folle. Comunque mi sento bene e spero di ottenere risultati di questo tipo anche nei prossimi giorni. Già essere a lottare con grandi campioni come questi per me è un onore». In buona posizione nel finale anche Daniele Colli (Team Type 1), ieri 3°, che non ha potuto disputare la volata per un guasto meccanico causatogli da un avversario: «Ero 4° o 5° quando uno mi è entrato nella ruota rompendomi non so quanti raggi e stortandomela tanto che non girava quasi più. Sono rimasto in piedi, ma mi dispiace aver buttato al vento un'occasione importante. Ogni giorno qui in Turchia nel finale è un vero casino, queste strade non vanno bene per arrivi di gruppo come quello di oggi. Credo che 200 corridori siano davvero troppi!». Leader della generale e miglior velocista dopo due tappe è Matthew Goss (GreenEdge); sulle spalle di Bodrogi (Team Type 1) la maglia bianca.
